who decided a minute should be sixty seconds?
who decided a day should be 24 hours?
who decided that guy was right?
what if someone else had divided up the day into something else?
what if the work week was just four days long?
and it had always been that way...
what if you never got the job you have right now?
where would you be right now?
look around at the people you work with.
you would never have known them.
what if you got sick?
or had an accident?
you couldn't move.
you couldn't speak.
and the ones around you that you loved started making decisions for you.
big decisions.
what if you'd never met the person you're with right now?
you'd have met someone else.
yes, you would.
really.
but you won't meet them now.
they've already met someone else.
how old were you when you got your first bike?
what color was it?
what did you eat for dinner last Tuesday?
should you live somewhere, just because you were born near there?
why don't you move somewhere else?
have you ever tried to paint?
to write?
to play piano?
how do you know you can't?
what if you'd never learned to read?
you wouldn't be reading this.
that much is for sure.
good thing someone else learned how to paint pictures.
what if the electric guitar had never been invented?
Eddie Van Who?
Eddie says he doesn't know how to read music for guitar.
so how did he learn to play?
have you ever caught a fish?
did you keep it?
did you watch it die?
let it go next time.
then look into the water at your reflection.
you'll be smiling.
what if you were that fish?
a simple meal could be your doom.
what if you had a different name?
would people treat you differently?
what if you'd been born the opposite sex?
what would you be doing right now?
what if you'd been born a lion in Africa?
what would you do when you weren't hunting for food?
what if you'd been born a Zebra in Africa?
what would you do when you weren't running away from lions?
what if we had never accepted technology?
what if the guy, who decided that the guy who invented seconds and hours was right, had also decided that technology was a threat, a danger to our way of life, the wrong path?
you wouldn't be reading this right now.
but is that a bad thing?
you could be doing something else.
like swimming in a lake.
